A comprehensive analysis of electric dipole moment constraints on CP-violating phases in the MSSM

چکیده
We analyze the constraints placed on individual CP-violating phases in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) by current experimental bounds on the electric dipole moments (EDMs) of the neutron, Thallium, and Mercury atoms. We identify the four CP-violating phases that are individually highly constrained by current EDM bounds, and we explore how these phases and correlations among them are constrained by current EDM limits. We also analyze the prospective implications of the next generation of EDM experiments. We point out that all other CP-violating phases in the MSSM are not nearly as tightly constrained by limits on the size of EDMs. We emphasize that a rich set of phenomenological consequences is potentially associated with these generically large EDM-allowed phases, ranging from B physics, electroweak baryogenesis, and signals of CP-violation at the CERN Large Hadron Collider and at future linear colliders. Our numerical study takes into account the complete set of contributions from oneand two-loop EDMs of the electron and quarks, oneand two-loop ChromoEDMs of quarks, the Weinberg 3-gluon operator, and dominant 4-fermion CP-odd operator contributions, including contributions which are both included and not included yet in the CPsuperH2.0 package. We also introduce an open-source numerical package, 2LEDM, which provides the complete set of two-loop electroweak diagrams contributing to the electric dipole moments of leptons and quarks.

Higgs-Mediated Electric Dipole Moments in the MSSM: An Application to Baryogenesis and Higgs Searches
We perform a comprehensive study of the dominant twoand higher-loop contributions to the 205Tl, neutron and muon electric dipole moments induced by Higgs bosons, third generation quarks and squarks, charginos and gluinos in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We find that strong correlations exist among the contributing CP-violating operators, for large stop, gluino and chargino p...

Low-energy results from measurements of leptonic dipole moments are used to derive constraints on the CP–violating phases of the dimensionful parameters of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (MSSM). We use these (known) bounds to investigate the impact of these phases on CP–even cross sections at high–energy e+e− and e−e− colliders. To that end we define two measures of ...
متن کاملThe Constraints on CP Violating Phases in models with a dynamical gluino phase
We have analyzed the electric dipole moment and the Higgs mass constraints on the supersymmetric model which offers dynamical solutions to the μ and strong CP problems. The trilinear coupling phases, and tanβ − |μ| are strongly correlated, particularly in the low-tan β regime. Certain values of the phases of the trilinear couplings are forbidden, whereas the CP violating phase from the chargino...

Possible CP violation in supersymmetric (SUSY) extensions of the Standard Model (SM) is discussed. The consequences of CP violating phases in the gaugino masses, trilinear soft supersymmetry-breaking terms and the µ parameter are explored. Utilizing the constraints on these parameters from electron and neutron electric dipole moments, possible CP violating effects in B-physics are shown. A set ...
متن کاملElectric Dipole Moments in the MSSM at Large tan β
Within the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), the large tanβ regime can lead to important modifications in the pattern of CP-violating sources contributing to low energy electric dipole moments (EDMs). In particular, four-fermion CP-violating interactions induced by Higgs exchange should be accounted for alongside the constituent EDMs of quarks and electrons. To this end, we present ...
